Very neat tool to find all kinds of aviation events!

Im a pilot with over 30 years in the software business. I am also on the board of the local EAA chapter, so I jumped at the chance to use this app to promote our chapter events. After using it for a few weeks, I have found 1) very easy for a user to display events in a selected area; 2) very awkward to enter events. For example, standard practice when selecting an item from a large pick list is to progressively filter the list based on the first character(s) entered. This app does not allow text entry of common values such as city or state. One must scroll down the pick list of states to select and then scroll down a list of every city/town in the state to select. Entering Toughkenamon, Pennsylvania (the location of our chapter events) is a very tedious process. For multiple events in the same location the entire process must be repeated. ; 3) Numerous bugs and incomplete functions. The function to email an event formats an email with a "null" link. Its broken. selecting Help or Contact displays some fixed text with no links or helpful information. For example Help displays the words "Help Content" 3 times in a text string with no links. Select About Us and you get the words "this is a test". Come on you guys - you started something good! Please finish what you started.

I agree with FlyGrumman that this is a great app for pilots.

I have given this app lots of chances but it continues to disappoint me. It loads slowly, does not list known events in my area and has no way of discriminating events. The screen is cluttered when it loads. I am finally deleting this app and will rely on much more accurate and useful web-based event lists.

For a first try, not bad but at least half, if not 75% of the fly ins, pancake breakfasts, and other events were missing in Virginia and NC. I figured with time more users would sign up and add events. It may happen and I may not know. When I updated the app it wiped out my user Id and password, when I entered it, nada. I tried a few combinations, no joy. I put in for a forgotten password and have not heard back. My guess is I forgot my user ID and someone else is getting an email with their info. So I figured Id create a new used ID. No joy their either. It wont let me use my same email address. Whats the deal with needing this info to just look at events?! I can see using it to allow events to be added. In short, not there yet.

While I appreciate the app for its ease of use and ability to clearly display events on a map, it would offer improved functionality if we could post events to our social media accounts. Its Social Flight, after all.

A very good concept, but at present this app suffers several drawbacks deeming it appropriate for the trash bin: - SLOW Until this is resolved, its not even worth opening. - SCREEN ORIENTATION. On iPad it runs only in portrait mode, which is frustrating. Fail. - Limited SEARCH. the screen gets cluttered with the same symbol for all types events. Sorting through it is a mess given the limited search and sorting functionality. Exacerbated by slow response time. The other user who thinks the filtering capability is so great must either have A LOT of patience and time on his hands, or, be affiliated with developer. Until the issues are resolved, dont waste your time with this app.

Needs improvement. Many buttons dont work, can only be viewed in portrait mode not landscape, links from emails dont work. Great idea, but lacking basic features.

Great app for pilots, aircraft owners and aviation enthusiasts! If your looking for a fly-in or drive-in event anywhere in the country, this app is great. Pancake breakfasts, air shows, airport activities, FAA Wings courses are just some of the activities you can fly or drive to!

While a great idea, this App is very buggy, shuts down and I have removed it rom my iPad. .........I waited a month to retry this App and it is actually worse than before! It now shuts down my whole iPad!

The app simply does not work. I can search fine on my laptop. Do the same search on the app and it does not return the events in my area.

It has been a while but after quickly reviewing the app again, I am immediately at home again among aviation friends. What a great tool!!

I read about this app in a magazine so I thought I would try it. Too bad it doesnt work. It just sits there on the update screen. Total waste of time.

Locks up all the time. Very disappointing.

Worthless i-pad app. Stays in continual mode of "please wait, downloading airports and events". Great app idea but just does not work.

Much easier to use and FAST now! Love the way you can search for food and this to do at airports. $100 hamburger, here I come...

Love the new version. What a cool app! I dont understand the complaints. Works great for me. You need a good internet connection and you can zoom out to declutter to only events. Great way to see all the aviation events in your area. Who knew there were so many? Ill be using SocialFlight every time I fly from now on.

The new version of the app is so clean and easy to use! I love the points of interest feature for finding restaurants etc near airports and events

This app has changed the way I fly and where I fly. There are many items a general aircraft pilot needs along with GPS navigation and SF is right up there. Thank you SocialFlight for giving us more reasons to fly.
